Week One

We've arrived~

After 14 hours of flight, we first arrived at Incheon international airport in South Korea. It is a very nice airport which provides free shower to the transit passengers (very very nice). It also has a very comfortable resting area/lounge at the fourth floor where people can fully lay down and rest. This made my day;) We had 5 hours layover but it wasn't bad at all and we all got rested as well as some really nice Korean foods (Thanks to Minhyuk for the recommendations!).

The flight from Incheon to Narita was about 2 hours. The process of passing the Japan customs/immigration checkpoint was not complicated at all. The customs staff will give out simple instructions and it's easy to follow. AND YEAHHH. We've arrived!!!!

There are some Youtube videos about the airport transportation if needed and we took the shuttle bus to shinjuko station to meet the staff member (Mari is the best~) from AGU chat room. After the check-in process, we officially moved in to the sakura house where we will stay for the rest of five weeks. We live in an apartment with three separate rooms, two restrooms and a kitchen, so it's very convenient for us.

Orientation

We did an orientation in the morning and got to know some detailed info about our schedules/ school. Our schedule is fairly busy with eight hours shift from 9am-5pm on the weekdays. The picture below is our schedule. Our job responsibilities include conducting normal chat sessions in AGU University, High school, Junior High and Elementary school, assisting Junior High classrooms. Sometimes we will do presentations and event planning for the High school and chat room.

In the afternoon, we did a campus tour with our paired Japanese buddy~The campus is very nice (Fall in love with the cafeteria!). Besides, we observed two chat sessions.

Working, Learning, Experiencing...

In the first week, I did about ten chat sessions with students in AGU. I enjoyed the chat session a lot and I love the atmosphere in the chat room!! For many ESL (English as second language) students , they are not confident with their English at first. Learning how to encourage them as well as practice with them is a very special and enriching experience to me.

FOODS

Those are the foods from AGU ichi nana cafeteria. The price range from 300 to 500 yen which is about 3-5 dollars and those are sooooooo good!! Sending love~

P.S. Thank you Erina (our "buddy") for showing us around Shibuya~
